IWDC Week 6 Update
Faithful.
Week 6. Wow. 4-1 after 5 weeks of NFL heaven. I seriously had planned to be writing the annual “There is always next season” email by now. The first 5 weeks of the schedule included ALL of our division opponents and ALL of those games ended in WINS.
Let’s all start this week off with a remembrance, a tribute, and a prayer (to whatever entity you wish) for the much loved Vikki Zimmer. Mike and Vikki saw their youngest child head off to college as they made the transition to Cincinnati last season. Naturally, Vikki took the entire Bengals’ defensive roster in as her own children by making them cookies, praising their work ethic, and scolding Mike for being too hard on them. The exceptional performance of the defense this season makes it obvious how lucky we are to have the Zimmer family as a part of the organization, but we often forget how much they bring to the Bengals community simply as people. Our deepest sympathies go out to Mike and his family & friends.
Well, it finally happened and it has been a long time coming too. I feel like Bengals fans have been complaining for sometime now and Marvin finally fixed the problem.
No, no, no… I know what you are thinking and I am not talking about BSL, although that was certainly an important issue [Welcome Clark Harris!]. And no, PBS still hasn’t sold out for the 4-1 Who Dey Bengal Tigers vs. 2-3 Houston Oilers, err…. Texans. I am talking about being in 1st place in the AFC North.
We now stand alone, all by ourselves, leading the pack, king of the hill, sole holder of 1st place in the AFC North. You know… the AFC North, the most dangerous division in the AFC. The AFC division with the least number of losses… even though we have the re-defining miserable 1-4 Browns!
Can you believe that the Bengals and some cast-off RB named Benson [487yds Rushing] broke the Ravens’ 39 game streak of holding players under 100 yards rushing? Can you believe that the once lowly Bengals’ defense out-classed the Ravens’ celebrity status defenders? Can you believe the efficiency with which Carson operates under the 2 minute drill? I believe in the Bengals and I know you do too.

Official Omens of Week 6:
- Bengals sign Clark Harris to replace 10 year veteran Brad Saint Louis, Clark was recently cut from the Houston Texans practice squad… revenge game?
- The last time PBS did not sell out was November 9, 2003 against the… Texans
- Denzel Washington will be in attendance for this Sunday’s game… you know, that actor who played “Dr. Philip Chandler” in the 1980’s TV Hospital drama “St. Elsewhere”… whoa… creepy…
Okay, okay… two “St. Elsewhere” references in one season… a sign that this is the season of destiny?
Obviously though, this will be no easy match-up for the Cardiac Cats as Schaub has really been airing it out this season [3rd in Passing Yards, T-2nd TD's]. I would look for Jonathan Joseph to blow coverage for 100+ yards before he gets a pick-6.

I think Chad is announcing at 8pm via his seldom utilized Twitter account: @OGOchoCinco
But don’t win. We need you at Brothers – Duh. And who wants to watch a football game with the guy from “Virtuosity” anyway?
