Rex Isn’t Going to Like This

Rex Ryan thinks the Jets should be the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Me thinks that it is time for a serious dose of reality for the Rexster.
Let’s break down the game as I see it, and, no, I never played the damn game. I just spent too many years stuffing my face while watching it and calling it a few times on radio in my previous life.
–No way the Bengals come out and lay another egg like they did last Sunday night. From everything I have heard from the talking heads, the Bengals had a very “vanilla” game plan last week. One analyist even thought the Bengals had no game plan other than to just show up.
–With Robert Geathers and Domata Peko back, the Jets run game does not run wild like it did last week.
–The gadget plays (see: Wildkat) won’t be nearly as effective this time around. While there may be some gains, do not expect the long rushes for touchdown out of that formation.
–Is it possible for a quarterback to have a worse game than Carson Palmer did last week? 1-11 for zero yards. No, that is not a typo. Oh, yeah, add in an interception for good measure. Only place to go is up.
–You have to believe that the collective case of the “dropsies” won’t visit all the Bengals receivers at the same time this week, either.
–Defenses for both teams have a chance to play well, but since the Jets exposed most aspects of their game plans to just make it into the playoffs, I have to believe the Bengals offense shows a few new wrinkles. Sure hope you are listening, Mr. Bratkowski.
–Chad OchoPsychoJohnson actually shows restraint and does not punch a coach at halftime nor any other time in the game.
–Cedric Benson rushed for just under 100, Palmer throws for over 200, Sanchez throws three interceptions and Bengals win 24-14.
And, if I am wrong, please disavow any knowledge of this post.
